David Glocker has more than 40 years’ experience in thin film research, development and manufacturing. He spent 15 years in the Eastman Kodak Research Labs, where he was the group leader of a team responsible for scaling vacuum coating and surface treatment processes from the laboratory into production. In 1993 he founded Isoflux Incorporated to design and manufacture inverted cylindrical magnetron cathodes and develop processes based on their unique features. Customers use the company’s products in R&D and manufacturing for diverse applications such as medical devices, power transmission, sensors and many others. He’s an inventor or co-inventor on 32 U.S. patents and has published a number of research papers in the areas of sputter source design, plasmas and plasma characteristics, sources of substrate heating in sputtering and the control of sputtering processes and sputtered film properties. He retired from Isoflux in 2015.
