The DOMINO platform introduces a modular and scalable architecture for the industrial deposition of advanced carbon coatings. Supporting ta C, a C, a C:H and WC based systems within a single equipment platform, DOMINO enables broad coating versatility for machining, forming, and stamping applications. Additionally, this system platform is well-suited for DLC-based coatings for many applications within the firearms industry.
By integrating established PVD/PACVD deposition sources with controlled ion etching and plasma conditioning technologies, the platform delivers stable, reproducible processes essential for high performance tooling. Its configurable system layout allows users to combine multiple carbon coating technologies in one machine and expand capability through modular upgrades, reducing lifecycle complexity and protecting equipment investment.
A specific emphasis is placed on developing ultra thin, smooth, high hardness carbon coatings that improve adhesion, lower friction, and extend tool life. Results demonstrate that these coating architectures can significantly enhance durability and process reliability in demanding production environments. Through consistent process control, high system reliability, and sustainable operation, the DOMINO platform provides a forward looking solution designed to meet current industrial demands while enabling future coating innovations.
