Condensed Abstract: Semicore is known for advanced PVD systems—but that’s just the beginning. This talk explores our role as a dynamic engineering partner, tackling complex challenges that existing tools can’t. From UHV to light gas isotope environments, cleanroom to industrial requirements, and R&D prototypes to automated production lines—discover how Semicore collaborates with the brightest engineers and scientists to design and build one-of-a-kind solutions. If your requirements demand more than off-the-shelf, this session shows what’s possible.
Extended Abstract: Semicore is widely recognized for delivering high-performance PVD systems across industries ranging from research and development to high-volume production. However, this represents only part of our capabilities. At the heart of Semicore’s mission is a deep commitment to solving complex, unconventional challenges through custom engineering. This talk will explore Semicore’s role not just as a manufacturer but as a collaborative engineering partner, working closely with scientists, engineers, and technical teams to develop highly specialized equipment that meets unique process demands.
In many cases, our customers approach us with self-developed, small-scale systems that were often built in-house or at the lab bench to prove out a novel process or application. These early-stage setups may demonstrate promising results but often lack the robustness, repeatability, or integration required for production environments. That is where Semicore becomes a key partner. We combine our machine design expertise with the customer's deep subject matter knowledge to translate concepts into fully engineered, scalable, and production-ready systems.
Our development process is collaborative and iterative. We work with clients to define technical and functional requirements, adapt designs for scalability, optimize for manufacturability, and ensure seamless integration with broader factory workflows when necessary. Whether scaling from a research prototype to a pilot system or developing a full turnkey production platform, Semicore focuses on delivering systems that are reliable, efficient, and tailored to the unique needs of each application.
From ultra-high vacuum environments and light gas isotope containment to cleanroom compliance and rugged industrial installations, Semicore builds solutions for a wide range of technical extremes. Many of our systems go beyond vacuum deposition, incorporating pre- and post-process steps, automation controls, and factory-level integration.
Through real-world examples and key engineering insights, this presentation will highlight how Semicore bridges the gap between concept and production. Attendees will gain an understanding of how we help our customers bring bold ideas to life through custom-engineered, collaborative system solutions. For teams facing challenges beyond the reach of standard commercial equipment, this session will offer a look at what becomes possible when technical vision is supported by precision engineering.
