- Hyatt Centric The Pike Long Beach pays homage to the fascinating history of The Pike, an amusement park founded in 1902 that was a thriving destination for its bathhouse, wooden roller coaster, arcades and exciting family fun until 1979. This luxe hotel possesses a rooftop pool and bar with 360° panoramic views, places you in the middle of the neighborhood action so you can explore Long Beach’s bustling shopping areas, non-stop nightlife and the rolling surf of California’s Pacific Ocean. The hotel is a two-minute walk from the Long Beach Convention Center.

Important note! The SVC does not engage with any third-party companies to provide hotel accommodations. Be aware that in all cases, organizations representing themselves as affiliated with the SVC when it comes to hotel accommodations for the TechCon are likely to have malicious motives leading to a nefarious outcome if you rely on them.

In order for us to secure meeting and exhibition space of this quality, we must commit to a sizable room block and if we come up "short", we are contractually obligated to pay for every unused room night at the full price! As you can imagine, that is an incredible financial commitment, one that we are happy to make in order to provide the experience that everyone expects from an SVC TechCon. Once again, we are adopting a proactive protocol (first implemented in 2023), designed to avert the threat of attrition and the financial penalty that results from not meeting our room block obligations. Understanding the rationale behind the “process” will help you understand the sequence of events as you secure hotel accommodations and your conference registration.

During conference registration, you'll be asked for a hotel confirmation code. You’ll need this confirmation code to secure the lower conference rate (a $618 USD savings that is equivalent to two nights at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach). If you have not booked your hotel room yet, you can do so online. If you book your hotel room elsewhere, or cannot provide the Hyatt confirmation code, you will be directed to a pricing structure that is $618 USD higher. This policy does not apply to those who register as “exhibit visitors" or "tutorial only” participants. This money allows us to establish a reserve that is used to offset any attrition costs we experience and allows all of our conference participants the flexibility to stay at a location of their choosing.

Attention: As of April 14, 2026, the discounted room block at the Hyatt Centric has expired. The “rack rate” for rooms at this property is significantly more expensive than the discounted rate secured by the SVC.

The Hyatt Centric has graciously allowed the SVC to reserve, post-deadline, a number of rooms at the lower ($319 USD/night) rate. To take advantage of these rooms you will need to send an email to svcinfo@SVC.org with the title “Discounted Room Required at the Hyatt Centric”. In the email, please put your name, Arrival Date and Departure Date. We will then make a reservation for you and then we will email the confirmation number directly to you. Upon check-in, all you will need to do is provide a credit card to the hotel. To make things simple, we are suspending the requirement to provide a hotel confirmation number to secure the discounted conference registration rate. When you register for the conference simply select “No, I am local and will not need a hotel”. This unlocks the lower conference registration. We’ll see you soon!
